A delegation from the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) recently visited Dubai for discussions on the emirate’s logistics industry.
The high profile meeting, hosted by the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), also attracted officials from the National Association of Freight Logistics (NAFL), including the Dubai group’s current president Captain Mansoor Ghafoor and former president Issa Baluch.
“DED’s proactive interaction with different companies and enterprises is aimed at exchanging constructive views for creating the most conducive business atmosphere in Dubai,” said Ali Ibrahim, DED’s deputy director general for executive affairs.
A number of topics were tackled during the meeting, including the future growth of Dubai’s flourishing logistics industry and methods to increase quality standards in the emirate.
“The leadership of Dubai is committed to realising its vision of transforming the emirate into a well-diversified economy,” added Ibrahim. “Such meetings with the private sector will play a key role in the government’s endeavour to address the challenges and opportunities facing the business community, especially those in logistics.”
